The Depot is located in downtown Minneapolis and is a popular spot for families to visit. They have an indoor ice rink and an indoor water park. The ice rink has windows along one wall that reach from the floor to the ceiling, providing an nice atmosphere for skating indoors. The rink charges admission of $9.00 per adult and $6.00 for kids. You can bring your own skates or rent a pair for $7.00. They also have what are called ‘skating trainers’ available for $2.00 rental. These are metal frames with four legs on the ice that kids can lean on as they learn to skate. We found them very helpful when our children were younger.

The Depot’s water park is also a lot of fun for younger kids. There is a giant train, in keeping with the theme of the depot, that kids can climb and play on. There are actually 4 separate pools, with one being a zero depth for the younger kids. There is a three story water slide as well. Older kids may soon get bored with the limited selection of slides, but younger kids will really enjoy the day. Tickets are $20 per person for the day.
