This summer festival features over 250 artists, 3 performance stages, kids activities, a car show and a film festival. The party starts Saturday June 14 and continues Sunday June 15. This annual festival is designed to get the public to explore the river front area in Minneapolis.
Over 250 artists will be selling their craft along the waterfront. Media includes, but is not limited to: glass, drawing, pastels, painting, ceramics, bead work and photography. Take a stroll along the streets and browse among the stalls of the artisans. If you want to break from the shopping follow your ears to one of the 3 live music stages.
A complete list of musicians and their performances is listed on the Stone Arch Festival webpage.
If the kids are getting restless stop by the Youth Art Quarter located in Father Hennepin Park. The art activities are spread throughout the park and include a lego creation station and a large magnetic wall of words for patrons to create their own poetry. Try out the many different activities before moving on to the next fun display.
Car lovers will appreciate the Art of the Car display. There will be 100 different classic, imported and restored cars on display each day of the festival.
Parking in the area is available in ramps, lots and metered parking on the street. There is also bus service and light rail service to the downtown area, just a short walk from the festival site. This festival can be a fun way to spend a day with the whole family on Father’s Day Weekend.
