The weather is a little unpredictable here in Minneapolis and getting outside is not always possible. However the kids energy level seems to get bigger anyway.

Once place to go to help the kids run off their energy is Playworks. This indoor playground is adjacent to the Hinckley Casino in Prior Lake. Playworks has a large indoor climber, many computer terminals with games, a dance floor and of course food. There is also a play area for toddlers and younger children so they don’t get run over by the big kids.

The kids can run and play for  hours on the climber and get rid of some of their energy. There are also areas with craft supplies and games if the kids are inclined to do that instead. Older kids will enjoy the variety of video games available.

There is also an arcade, but this will cost extra as the games require quarters to play. You can even drop your kids off for a couple of hours and go eat dinner while they are supervised in the play area. Playworks checks kids in with a wristband and checks them out the same way so they are secure. We have been many times over the years and the kids always want to go back.

They do have food on site and you are not allowed to bring in your own snacks/food.
